I spent the last two months trying to get photos of deep sky objects (galaxies and nebulas) using the telescope at full power which is 2500mm focal length. The problem with that is as you increase the focal length you are decreasing the amount of light the sensor or film will receive. And since these objects are very faint to began with I was not able to get any decent photos. But it only took me two months to see it was not going to happen. Some people are just slower than others. Or maybe it is just hard headedness!!! So now the moon is big and bright and here are my new moon photos. Only this time I used video to process instead of just one photo.

The solar eclipse of April 2024. Here it is about one fourth. I took these pictures with my old film camera and a 400mm telephoto lens and of course a solar filter. I wish I had a bigger lens for these pictures. But that's the way it goes. The last picture which is total is just a little over exposed but there just wasn't a lot of time to get all the different exposures times that I wanted.
The sun The nights have been not so good lately so I thought I would try the sun. This is my first attempt at doing the sun and I think it is not to bad. Some sun spots are clearly visible. WARNING: To those who may see this photo of the sun DO NOT attempt this without using a solar filter. To do so could result in serious eye damage or blindness. And not to mention camera damage.
