M16  The Eagle nebula I wanted to do something different this time. I took 58 pictures of m16 each picture was 3 minutes long. I then aligned and stacked those 58 photos in a processing app called Deepskystacker. This picture is the result of that process. Not very impressive. But we cannot see the data that is now in this one picture. But my next processing app can. It is called Pixinsight. It is a powerful tool that can  extract that data and bring it to light. The next picture is the result of that process with Pixinsight.

M16  The Eagle nebula It is also referred to as "the Pillars of Creation" because stars are born here.   Oh boy, another picture of the moon When the moon is big and bright it washes out the night sky so much that it's about the only thing you can photograph. So to give me something to do ---- I did it. I think this maybe the best picture I have taken of the moon.

M57  The Ring nebula  This is what is left from a star that has novaed (exploded). The tiny dot in the center is the stars' core. The material around it is what is left of the star. This nebula is 2,500 light years away. That is why this type of nebula is so small.
