the veil nebula This was my hardest photo yet. This nebula is so dim that when I was on target, I could not even see it on the computer screen. This is a photo of 32 pictures at 8 minutes exposures each for a total of four hours of exposure. the trifid nebula the owl nebula the wirlpool galaxy The ring nebula - The tiny white dot in the center is what is left from the red giant star that exploded. It is the stars core. It is still bright enough to make the material and gases that is left glow.
M31 the Andromeda galaxy M31 is our neighbor galaxy. It is only 2.5 million light years away. This picture is the result of 112 three minute pictures for a total exposure time of 5.6 hours. The pictures were aligned and stacked and then processed to create this final image. In the lower left of the picture is another galaxy that is much farther away.
