M27 The Dumbbell nebula
It is 1,360 light years away. This nebula is also one that formed when it's star exploded. At the center you can see the star's core, which is all that remains of the star. It is the light and radiation from the core that makes the nebula glow.

the veil nebula This was my hardest photo yet. This nebula is so dim that when I was on target, I could not even see it on the computer screen. This is a photo of 32 pictures at 8 minutes exposures each for a total of four hours of exposure. the trifid nebula the owl nebula the wirlpool galaxy   The ring nebula - The tiny white dot in the center is what is left from the red giant star that exploded. It is the stars core. It is still bright enough to make the material and gases that is left glow.
