The Milky Way
In August of this year I went to Spruce Knob W.V. which is a dark sky site. Looking east you can see Virginia. I wanted to get pictures of the Milky Way. here are two of them. They were taken with my film camera. I used Kodak Ultra Max 400 speed color film. This picture was a 5 minute exposure with a 28mm lens. The next picture is a 4 minute exposure with a 50mm lens.

the veil nebula This was my hardest photo yet. This nebula is so dim that when I was on target, I could not even see it on the computer screen. This is a photo of 32 pictures at 8 minutes exposures each for a total of four hours of exposure. the trifid nebula the owl nebula the wirlpool galaxy   The ring nebula - The tiny white dot in the center is what is left from the red giant star that exploded. It is the stars core. It is still bright enough to make the material and gases that is left glow.

 I took a total of 60 photos for a total of 6 hours total exposure time. You can compare this one to the other photo I have on this blog. This one was processed using another processing software I got called Pixinsight. It is much better.
